PPC was founded in 1950 and has been listed on the Athens Stock Exchange since 2001. It is the leading electricity generation and supply company in Greece, with activities in the generation, distribution and sale of electricity to consumers. It is the largest electricity supplier in Greece, serving approximately 5.6 million customers throughout the country.

It is the largest power generation company in Greece with a total capacity of 11.1 GW including thermal, hydro and RES power plants. HEDNO S.A., its 51% subsidiary, is the owner and operator of the electricity distribution network of Greece with a Regulated Asset Base of c. € 3 bn.

The beginning
The Public Power Corporation was established on 7 August 1950 with the aim to generate electricity using domestic energy sources and distribute it throughout the country.
The electrification
Electricity soon reached every corner of the country, radically changing people's daily lives.
Protecting the environment
Driven by a strong concern for environmental issues, PPC is rehabilitating the natural landscape in the areas where lignite mining is completed.
Shift to Renewable Energy sources
PPC Renewables S.A. has taken up the baton of managing renewable energy projects, with the aim of developing the sector as much as possible.
The new stores & services
With a view to upgrading the service experience, PPC is renovating its stores and improving its call center and digital channels.
E-Mobility
On 1 July 2021, PPC officially launched E-Μobility in Greece. PPC Blue is the fastest growing charging network in the country.

PPC launches e-mobility and changes the way we move forever. A whole world of new services, designed around the needs of the modern man, based on green energy and enabling us to enjoy the benefits of e-mobility.
