Announcement
PPC S.A. clarifies that it is not true what is mentioned in the press that the cost of power thefts amounts to € 970 m and is being borne by PPC only.
Said figure, which was correctly presented as “Unbilled revenue” by the Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations S.A. (HCAP), as shown in the financial statements of PPC, includes amounts corresponding to electricity consumed from Low Voltage customers in a specific period, which however have not been billed during this period and it obviously takes into account technical losses of the network currently officially estimated at 5.5% of the total electricity injected in the network and non-technical losses (power thefts), which according to RAE correspond to 4.2% of the total electricity injected in the network. The cost of power thefts is allocated to all electricity suppliers (84.1% to PPC) and at the end it burdens all electricity suppliers.
