ANNOUNCEMENT
PPC S.A. announces that the Generation Division of PPC S.A. was recognised for its environmental performance with an award at the “Greek Business Awards for the Environment 2011-2012” organized by the Hellenic Association of Companies for Environmental Protection and held under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change.
Specifically, PPC Generation Division received an award in the category of “Organization and Management” for the Environmental Management Systems implemented at its power plants, and certified according to ISO 14001:2004. The implementation of these systems has led to significant improvements in the operation of those power plants.
The aforementioned award is the result of PPC’s systematic and persistent effort for the protection of the environment, which constitutes a key strategic priority. From 2006 until today, the Environmental Management Systems at 15 power plants of the Generation Division have been certified according to ISO 14001:2004. Following the certification of 3 more power plants, which is expected by 2014, all power plants of the Interconnected System as well as those in Crete and Rhodes islands shall operate in accordance with the requirements of ISO 14001:2004.
