David Kerstein - President and Founder
David Kerstein is a financial services industry leader. He has held senior management positions at Citigroup, Bank One (now J.P. Morgan Chase) and Old Kent Financial Corp. (now Fifth Third Bank). His responsibilities included Division Executive and Regional President with responsibility for retail banking, consumer lending, business banking, private banking, marketing and strategic planning.
Mr. Kerstein served as Chairman of the Retail Financial Services Commission of the Bank Administration Institute and the Planning Committee for the Retail Delivery Systems Conference. He was a founding member of the International Retail Banking Council, where he chaired the Branch Banking and Distribution Management Board. He has been active in education programs for the banking industry, and served on the Education Council of the Consumer Bankers Association.
David Kerstein holds an MBA in Marketing and an MA in Public Administration. He was on the faculty of the University of Missouri, where he taught Consumer Marketing, and has taught classes or seminars in financial services marketing at several colleges and universities, including the Univ. of Illinois and the Univ. of Wisconsin. He is a contributing author to the Direct Marketing Handbook and served on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Retail Financial Services.
A frequent speaker at industry forums, Mr. Kerstein has participated in conferences throughout the United States and in Europe, South America and Asia where he has spoken on distribution strategy, customer acquisition strategies, and sales management. He has been quoted in The American Banker, US Banker, US News and World Report and other business publications and newsletters.
Ric Carey - Director
Ric Carey has had a distinguished career in banking and is known for his work in building deep and profitable customer relationships through improved consumer and small business segmentation and innovative distribution strategies. Most recently he served as Executive Vice President and Head of Retail Banking for Umpqua Bank, overseeing Umpqua’s internationally acknowledged best-in-class community banking program. Prior to that, he was SVP and Small Business Segment and Marketing Manager at Bank One, where he developed and executed targeted programs for the business banking segment.
Mr. Carey is a faculty member of the International Academy of Retail Banking and has conducted training and consulting programs in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and China.
Tom Zayko - Director
Tom Zayko is an expert at identifying growth opportunities and creating high performing marketing and sales strategies. He implemented Citigroup’s corporate branding strategy across Europe, creating a unified Citibank brand that included branch design, signage, collateral, and sales training. Previously he developed the strategic marketing and distribution plan for 1,200 branches of Bank of America, including market-by-market strategies based on customer behavior patterns, competitive share position, and market potential.
Tom was also responsible for developing “Customers-Matter,” a customer survey program that enables banks and credit unions to gather customer feedback in real-time, and convert the feedback into improved service levels.
